A dental implant is a titanium screw placed into the jawbone to stand in for the root of a missing tooth. Once the bone has grown against it — usually over two to four months — it carries a crown, a bridge or a full arch. Nothing is ground down on the neighbouring teeth to hold it, which is the main reason an implant is preferred to a conventional bridge where the bone allows it.

Planning starts with a CBCT scan and an intraoral scan rather than a putty impression. The scan shows how much bone there is, where the nerve runs and where the sinus sits, and the implant position is decided on screen before anything is opened. A surgical guide is then printed in our own laboratory so the drill follows the plan rather than the surgeon's eye.

Full Mouth Implants

For a mouth that has lost most of its teeth, a full arch can be carried on four or six implants instead of one per tooth. All-on-4 angles the two back implants to use bone that is already there, which often avoids grafting; All-on-6 spreads the load across six when the jaw can take them. A temporary fixed bridge goes on the same day in most cases, and the final one follows once healing is done.

Treatment is split across two visits to Antalya. The first is three to five days — examination, scan, extractions if any are needed, surgery and the temporary teeth. You then go home while the bone heals. The second visit, three to four months later, is about a week: the final restoration is designed, produced here and fitted.
